Gigi and Bella Hadid, Ashley Graham take Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show by storm

The 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15 marked the comeback of the lingerie giant after a five-year hiatus. It was headlined by famous Victoria’s Secret Angels: Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Barbara Palvin, Doutzen Kroes, Jasmine Tookes, and Josephine Skriver.
American supermodel Gigi Hadid opened the show in pink lingerie. She completed her look with oversized pink feathers and matching high-heeled straps. On the runway, she paid tribute to pop star Taylor Swift by replicating her style, inviting loud cheers from the crowd at Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City. She made another appearance in a lacy red bikini bodysuit.
Earlier in the day, Hadid hinted that she would be channelling her best friend Taylor. “There’s something on the runway tonight that I learned from Taylor during her tour. In one of her rehearsals, she said, ‘I’m going to show you how we do this.’ I did it then, and now I’m using it tonight,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

Bella Hadid, a veteran of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, made a surprise appearance on the runway. She entered the stage towards the end of the show in a red bra set and huge red wings.
Adriana Lima, 43, made an epic return to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She first walked for Victoria’s Secret in 1999 when she was just 18 years old and announced her retirement in 2018.
The Brazilian supermodel talked to People Magazine about her return to the iconic fashion event, saying, “I’m really happy to be in the Victoria’s Secret show because this is where everything started for me. My first show was in 1999 in New York City. My last show in 2018 was also in New York City, and I’m back again in New York. It’s incredible. I seriously did not think that I would be back, and it feels awesome.”
Supermodel Candice Swanepoel also returned to the show, and popular model Tyra Banks closed the show following an exciting performance by Cher.

The new iteration of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show showcased a much more diverse group of models in different shapes, sizes, gender identities, and abilities, promoting a culture of inclusivity for the brand.
Thirty-six-year-old model Ashley Graham made her debut in a VS fashion show. She walked the runway in an all-black outfit featuring a lace bodysuit and a matching robe, complete with black heels. Ashley posed on the runway for a moment as Blackpink singer Lisa sang “Moonlit Floor.”
Sharing her excitement about walking the runway for the lingerie brand, Ashley told People Magazine, “I am feeling really excited. I’m not nervous, and everything’s very secure; we’re not going to have anything pop out, which makes me feel good so I can strut it, and I’m honestly more excited just for the full representation that’s going to happen during the show.”
Supermodels Kate Moss and her daughter Lila Moss also made their Victoria’s Secret debut on the runway. Lila wore a pink outfit with tassels and sparkling lingerie. Her mother Kate, 50, entered the runway with “I Love Rock ‘N Roll” playing over the speakers. She received the loudest cheer from the crowd as she appeared in her black outfit.
Ahead of the show, the lingerie brand promised an “inclusive” event on their website, stating, “Victoria’s Secret is focused on celebrating and supporting all women, and that won’t change anytime soon.”
The annual televised runway show was cancelled in 2019 due to falling ratings and criticism regarding the body image standards set by the VS Angels and models for women.
